Abstract
The article deals with theoretical and practical analysis of national security system development and functioning parameters as one of the most vital for the countries’ existence. The state is a central element for modern political system. In day-to-day life, the term «state» usually means country or society. Providing security is one of the fundamental state functions, the one which enables the stable existence of the society and the state apparatus. Balanced and developed national security sector allows any country to adequately monitor and efficiently react upon security challenges. Different countries, depending upon their historically shaped political and administrational traditions, as well as upon their historical development in general, formed different national security systems. Experience of the countries with developed national security system can be valuable for Ukraine, specifically under the current unfavorable circumstances. However, accounting for the dynamics of the challenges’ generation by the modern international security sector, even the most well-developed national security systems must be flexible enough to properly address those challenges. On the example of the United States of America, methods to implement the corresponding American experience to form Ukrainian security sector are shown.
