Abstract

This chapter explores and reflects on theological hermeneutics from a Pasifika standpoint. The author argue that many of the standard hermeneutical approaches to biblical studies in the Pacific have philosophical underpinnings that serve the colonial interests of dominant cultures. In response, the author highlights some of the more dynamic, relational ways of reading and being that have emerged from Pacific contexts.
