Abstract

In this article the author demonstrates the theory of substancepresent in the book Categories and the theory of substance in thebook Z of the Metaphysics. She tries to work out the main argumentsof the two theories and to show how the first implicates an ‘atomisticsubstancialism’ and the second a ‘hylemorphic substancialism’.Besides that, she points out the importance of the analysis of the‘come to be’– theory – present in the central chapters of book Z - for an adequate comprehension of the hylemorphic theory of Metaphysics
