Abstract

David Burr is the author of ten books and around 100 articles, mostly on Franciscan history. His major interest is in dissent, particularly in its apocalyptic form. His most recent book is on medieval exegesis of the book of Revelation.A graduate of Oberlin College, Union Theological Seminary and Duke University, he is currently an emeritus professor of history at Virginia Tech.Paula Castillo has a Ph.D. in history from the Università degli studi of Padova and the Universidad Nacional of Tres de Febrero.
