Abstract

Heidegger looks for "new concepts" with which to grasp the kind of being that Dasein possesses. This is an account of these new concepts under the title of anamorphosis. Anamorphosis is a way of seeing, and so of understanding, that understands in the movement of turning-away. What is gets understood always has the character of a surprise. By studying the relation between inauthenticity and human doing, anamorphosis suggests itself as the hinge between inauthentic and authentic Dasein. This way of looking at Dasein suggests certain new ways of resolving problems concerning the nature of its authentic way to be and how this relates to Dasein's everyday affairs
