Abstract

A critical analysis of the concept of ideology in Die Deutsche Ideologie by K. Marx and F. Engels: Three dichotomies structure their definition of ideology as the antonymy of truth and of reality. Negative implications on later marxist conceptions of ideology. The "ideological" effect of Die Deutsche Ideologie.
