Abstract
This article provides a synopsis of the notion of human dignity and its status in the legal and constitutional system of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It reviews the relevant legal acts and case law of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which recognizes human dignity in individual cases of violation of human rights and freedoms. The social context is also provided, that is, the post-conflict, divided, post-socialist, and transitional society that is Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which the concept of human dignity has been forged into positive laws within the legal system of the country.
