3D-MSWT: An Alternative Tool in Developing Students’ Understanding in Landform Interpretation Course

Abstract

Student’s engagement and understanding is becoming vital important for development of high-quality teaching and learning experience. Generally accepted that this become a challenge in the outcome-based learning environment. Traditionally, learning the landform and topography in Landscape Architecture subject needed the student to be able to understand and visualize the types of different terrain in the 2D aspect. This paper revealed the treatment when learning in a different approach by using 3D-modelling sculpture in water tank method. An experimental research has been carried out by using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. A simple random sampling technique is used to the Landscape Architecture Diploma students in second semester at UiTM Cawangan Perak to clue the findings. This method has shown a significant increase in the students’ engagement and understanding of the topic compared to the conventional method.
