Abstract

This book is developed from worksheets prepared by Strathclyde region for their religious studies certificate courses. Used successfully throughout Scotland, this material is now available elsewhere, and is suitable for a wide range of courses in religious studies and social studies for years three to five in secondary schools. These photocopiable worksheets cover a wide range of issues. By setting realistic situations where moral choices have to be made, empathy and reflection are encouraged, and students are helped to articulate the reasons for their moral decisions. There are a variety of work assignments - from individual questions and research, to group discussion and role play. Eight pages of teachers' notes are included, with charts showing objectives, learning and teaching approaches, resources and assessments for each topic.
