On Some Problems of Huang Zongxian's Poems

Abstract

In the history of Chinese poetry, poetry to move into the new word, since ancient times. Till Qing Dynasty, Chinese and Western have become frequent, there were many reformers of the poet attempts to apply new words to the classical poetry, the Huangzunxian is one of the best. Huangzunxian new word into the problems caused by old-style poetry are three: First, Wong new words into the theory and practice of old-style poetry; Second, Huang's pros and cons of new words into the old-style poetry; Third, the new word into the application of methods and old-style poetry in contemporary significance. It is normal to put new words in old poem in the history of China poetry. Huang Zongxian as one of the most outstanding poets among the reformers in the late Qing period tried to put new words into the old style poems. There were three problems for Huang's new poems discussed in this paper: the theory for his new poems; the successes and failures; the methods and influence for modem period
