Abstract

A remarkably lucid and appealing attempt to give a rational account of religion in non-technical terms. The predicament itself, namely the gulf between knowledge and faith, is not disposed of in any definitive manner, but many points that must be considered on both sides are discussed in a way that is both critical and fair.--D. R.
