On Rine's view of Boolean algebras
Abstract
This paper is scheduled to appear in the Proc. of the 11th Int'l Symp. on Multiple-valued Logic, 1981, Oklahoma City). In what ways may results in 2-valued logic be extended to n-valued logic? The discussion uses case n = 3 for illustration. Two dierent 3- valued generalizations are given for the 2-valued symmetric dierence which preserve associativity. This was a subject of D. C. Rine in \There is More to Boolean Algebra Than You Would Have Thought", Reports on Math. Logic, 2, 25{32, 1974
