Abstract

We aim in this paper to developp an brief epistemological survey about the imagination of the contemporary body and to underline the diversity of questions that are at stake in this issue. We first analyse the general epistemology of cultural imagination in order to detect its tenuous links with the questions raised by the body. It allows us to assess the specificities of the imagination of the contemporary body and their social, esthetic and anthropological impact in our cultures.
