Abstract

The authors of the book set a simple goal: to find out the role and place of religion in modern socio-cultural processes of Ukraine and to determine ways to optimize its social functionality. It envisaged, on the basis of gathering and summarizing the facts, sources, to conceptualize the processes taking place in the religious life of Ukraine, to identify the main tendencies of socio-cultural changes, to predict the transformations expected in the near future in the religious sphere. The complexity of fulfilling the stated tasks is due to the fact that before us religion has emerged as a living organism, which, despite all its tradition, is constantly in motion, specifically responding to changes in society.
