Abstract

A intenção do presente artigo é resgatar a importância do pensamento de Comte para a filosofia da ciência. Para tanto, procuramos desfazer certos preconceitos acerca do positivismo reavaliando certos conceitos comtianos, como a lei dos três estados, a classificação das ciências e o papel das hipóteses, a fim de se restaurar a sua relevância sobre o pano de fundo da história da filosofia.
