1. My topic is integrity, and the relation between an integrated structure and its component details. Let me begin with an image. The jazz trumpeter and composer Wynton Marsalis says: In American life, you have all of these different agendas, you have conflict all the time, and we’re attempting to achieve harmony through conflict.
