Abstract
Eschatology (from the Greek eskatos, “what is at the end” or “last”) is the study of the final end of all things and the resolution of all creation in its ultimate goals. In fact, the long sweep of evolution, when studied from a theological point of view, may suggest a creation whose theological “goodness” may be viewed as fully accomplished only in the eschatological future. Although in the Christian theological tradition, the eschatology has a primary place, the idea of an afterlife is present – in a greater or lesser extent – in almost all world religions.
