Abstract

Este artículo trata de analizar el conflicto latente en el concepto moderno de ciudadanía desde su origen. Así, si los textos que manifiestan las convicciones de los protagonistas de las revoluciones francesa y norteamericana fundan los derechos humanos en su dignidad como seres humanos libres e iguales , una vez inscrita la ciudadanía en las fronteras del Estadonación, el estatus y los derechos correspondientes a los ciudadanos les son atribuidos en tanto que son miembros de un demos definido por ciertos criterios de pertenencia.This article investigates the latent conflict in the modern concept of citizenship from its origin. Thus, if the texts that express the convictions of the protagonists of the American and French Revolutions founded human rights in their dignity as free and equal human beings , once registered citizenship in the nation-state borders, the status and rights for citizens are conceived as being members of a demos defined by certain criteria of membership
