The Philosophy Of Self-reflexivity Of Ioane Petrisi
Abstract
The topic formulated in the title has so far not been addressed in Petritsi studies. This is explained by the fact that the topic played no important role for the acknowledged researchers of Petritsi’s Proclus-Treatise. The problem of the philosophy of self-reflexivity in Petritsi’s thought is tightly connected with the problem of the adequate reconstruction of the propositions concerning nous in his Proclus-Commentary. This problem has to be dealt with in the context of respective chapters of Elementatio theologica, since Petritsi, in his explications of this work, conceived of himself predominantly as a commentator. The author discusses problems of self-reflexivity in Petritsi’s Proclus-Commentary, which are neglected in Petritsi studies, and explicates in nuce numerous remarkable reflections on this topic of the Georgian medieval philosopher. The discussion is based on Petritsi’s commentaries to those chapters of Proclus’ Elementatio theologica that concern questions connected with nous. Key words SELF-REFLEXIVITY, PETRISI
