Abstract

In this book are twelve previously unpublished papers, arranged both thematically and chronologically, from Cassirer's last decade. The first section, entitled "Philosophy of Culture," includes the only two papers from the 1930s: the inaugural lecture at Göteborg, "The Concept of Philosophy as a Philosophical Problem," and a 1936 lecture to the Warburg Institute in London, "Critical Idealism as a Philosophy of Culture."
