Abstract
This essay explores how Luce Irigaray’s approach to the origins and transcendent destiny of human being and becoming expands the interrelated theological mysteries of incarnation and grace. The invitation to be faithful to life through embodied eros promises the transformation of persons and structures as it promotes relational fulfillment and the cultivation of life for all living beings. My argument considers the event and process of incarnation presented in To Be Born; explores the dynamics of embodied grace in Irigaray’s reading of the Marian symbol; and exposes the revelatory power of breath, word, and flesh for the evolution of a new humanity. It affirms Irigaray’s approach to the value of sexuation in ways that speak the transcendence of human beings and challenge us to fidelity to the absolute of Life itself.
