Abstract

In the article analyses the problem of «the crisis» in the philosopher’s constructions Ortega y Gasset. We need to understand the philosophy of crisis like a dynamic phenomenon. A Spanish thinker appeals to the theme of crisis in such works like «Spineless Spain», «The theme of our time», «What is philosophy?», «Revolt of the Masses», «In Search of Goethe», «Dehumanization of Art», «The position of science and historical reason», «The emergence of philosophy». The thinker at the start of creativity actualizes «the crisis» in the first place through the historic and the sociopolitical context. The crisis should be interpreted as «collapse», «decline» and «illness» of the state. Social theme comes to the fore. Selection of a minority and separation it from majority becomes a tool for overcoming the crisis. However he views the crisis from another a viewpoint in latest works. In the work «Revolt of the Masses» the crisis looks not like «the crisis» of peoples and cultures in Europe, but like «revolt of the masses». An immorality grows since expansion «masses». For Spanish philosopher is not a principal crisis of culture, nation or morality. For him an important is the detection of a deeper crisis – the loss of viability.
