Abstract

Throughout history, many people have experienced serious difficulties due to infertility. Today, 15% of couples of reproductive age are affcted by infertility. In this direction, it was started to develop treatments for infertility in the 1900s and many treatment methods used in the treatment of the infertile individual have emerged today. However, with these developments in infertility treatments, ethical problems have also come to the fore. Ethical aspects of many applications in infertility treatments such as cryopreservation of gamete cells, embryo transfer, what to do with frozen embryos, use of donor embryo/gametes and uterus transplantation have been discussed. In addition, there are situations in which the laws of the country and ethical principles conflict. For this reason, health professionals and nurses working in the field of infertility must have ethical values and at the same time be aware of the laws of the country. It is important for health professionals working in the field of infertility to act in accordance with the ethical principles and within the laws determined in this regard.
