Abstract

RésuméOn propose de distinguer la »rationalité instrumentale« et la »rationalité substantive« . On tente de montrer que la raison instrumentale enveloppe déjà une forme minimale de raison substantive et que la raison substantive contient la raison instrumentale comme composante nécessaire.La raison apparaǐt comme un projet d'instauration. C'est par rapport à ce projet qu'il faut examiner la signification du politique. La dimension politique appartient à la raison pratique, mais celle‐ci ne peut ětre pensée que comme horizon, non comme totalisation.Summary This article proposes to distinguish “instrumental rationality” and “substantive rationality” . It tries to show that instrumental reason implies already a minimal form of substantive rationality and that substantive reason contains instrumental reason as a necessary component.Reason appears as a project of institution. It is with respect to this project that the meaning of the political life has to be determined. The dimension of politics belongs to practical reason, but this one can be understood only as an horizon, not as a totality.ZusammenfassungEs wird unterschieden zwischen »instrumentaler Rationalität« und »substantiver Rationalität« . Es wird gezeigt, dass die instrumentale Vernunft bereits eine minimale Form von substantiver Rationalität involviert und dass die leztere die erstere als einen notwendigen Teil enthält.Die Vernunft erscheint als ein Instaurationsprojekt. Die Bedeutung des politischen Lebens muss in bezug auf dieses Projekt bestimmt werden. Die Politik gehört zur praktischen Vernunft, die aber nur als Horizont, nicht als eine Totalität verstanden werden kann
