Mayr's Perspective on the Nature of Darwinian Revolution
Abstract
Darwin proposed 150 years ago with the primary mechanism of natural selection theory of evolution, led to the Darwinian revolution. This article analyzes Meyer relevant discussion on the Darwinian revolution, revealing the essence of the revolution, that is, it is not only a scientific revolution, but also an ideological revolution. Its traditional Western concept of many important aspects poses a challenge. Meanwhile, Meyer also proposed a "population thinking", "physical" and other concepts to help people understand the profound meaning of Darwin's thinking, and reflects from a scientific view of Meyer and philosophy of science
