Abstract

History of the descendants of Guan Yu Guan Yu is a symbolic image of the carrier. "Three Kingdoms" wide-ranging implications, then the image of Guan Yu in the field of literature gradually symbol, symbol, becoming the spokesman for the spirit of traditional Chinese culture, and ultimately, in the worship of Guan Yu, Guan Yu is interpreted as the image of God, holy to the gods of religion, in Chinese society had a rich and profound belief in the power. The image of Guan Yu in Romance of the Three Kingdoms has its fixed connotation, that is, loyalty, righteousness, and courageousness. Such connotation does not only reflect the moral criteria of Chinese culture, hut also indicate its inner order therefore satisfy the demands of the national sentiments. Mao Zonggang says in his commentary to the 77 chapter that Guan Yu's spirit will never die, for his horse is still in the cloud, so are his green garment and his crescent falchion, they will never wane. If horse, garment and weapon would last, how is the spirit? Surely it is an immortal one. This paper holds that traditional Chinese culture develops itself also by this materialized way
