Abstract

With the ever-increasing complexity humanitarian action, the debate about what is done and how to enhance it is being laid out. Among the proposals that are brought about, debates about principles, the increasing professionalization of humanitarian issues, along with more technical and operative aspects of the discipline are included. This article will outline several elements of the so called “trend of the enhancement of humanitarian action”, and these elements are articulated around three blocs: the revitalization of international law, the establishment of minimum standards, and the evaluation and adaptation to the context. _Published online_: 11 December 2017.
