L'opera di Giovanni Battista Quadri come anticipatore mancato della moderna neurofisiologia

Abstract

The Work Of Giovanni Battista Quadri As Missed Precursor Of Modern Neurophysiology The work of the physician Giovanni Battista Quadri as a pioneering figure in Italian ophthalmology is well-known and it has been already discussed in various works. The present essay, by utilizing letters preserved in the Autografoteca Campori at the Biblioteca Estense Universitaria di Modena, which have never been analyzed until now, is focussed on the reconstruction of Quadri's work as a neurobiologist, in order to appreciate its originality and anticipatory content at the origin of modern neuroanatomy and neurophysiology.
