Abstract

Five years have passed since the death of Hilary Putnam. Through this symposium, we would like to celebrate the thought and work of one of the most influential, imaginative, fine, distinctive, and often provocative minds in twentieth-century American philosophy. We do not seek to do this through an entirely eulogizing approach; rather, we want to recognize the limits and challenges of his thought, as well as its potential generativity.
