Abstract
Present in Nietzsche's view of nature are two, often contradictory, qualities. The first is his claim that man needs to take nature as a guide---a return to nature and instinct. Yet Nietzsche also presents nature as somewhat chaotic and indifferent to the aims of man. ;This study argues that these two views of nature are, and can only be, reconciled by what Nietzsche calls philosophy---a philosophy of the future. It is this philosophy that uses art, politics, science, and religion to found a people and elevate a culture
