Abstract

A nearly unknown manuscript of Leibniz dealing with the conception of a speed regulation from March 1686, is introduced in transcription. Functional characteristics are given and it is shown that the unit in fact is a feedback control in modern sense. Nevertheless it didn't forerun or initiate control engineering in any way, but is closely connected with Leibniz's undertakings in the mining of the Oberharz during the 1680 years
