Abstract

Resumo: O artigo discute o pensamento de Vico, especialmente aquele expresso na oração inaugural de 1709, como retorno ao lugar comum medieval e humanista do renascimento do passado clássico. Pretende mostrar que a visão política de Vico alimenta-se, de um lado, de uma rígida concepção de jurisprudência, típica do império de Augusto, e, de outro, da concepção ciceroniana de eloqüência, que abre espaço para a defesa do individuo diante da rigidez das leis.Palavras-chave: Vico - direito romano - eloqüência.: The article discusses the thinking of Vico, especially those expressed in the inaugural prayer for 1709, as a return to common place medieval and humanist of the revival of the past classic.
