Abstract
The Sixteenth World Congress of Philosophy, which meets every five years, will be held in Düsseldorf, West Germany, August 27 — September 2, 1978. Its principal theme is "Philosophy and the Problems of World View Facing Modern Science." One of the most important purposes of congresses of philosophy is to facilitate dialogue among philosophers of various countries. Accordingly, the central theme of the Sixteenth World Congress of Philosophy will be discussed at eight plenary sessions. Moreover, it is planned to have eight working sections at the congress, to permit discussion of the same topics. Meetings of many other groups and committees will also take place.
