Abstract

This text shows how Michel Foucault’s work has influenced into the academic production in Latin America and Brazil. Foucault’s work has had a wide reception within academic communities, mainly, into the education field. Thus, here are some of the most outstanding works from Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil made from Foucauldian perspective. In this sense, we found a new way to approach to the educational problems, a fact that results interesting because these works are not found in the region’s academic mainstream, where the most of educational discourses are based on the critical theory and constructivism.
