Abstract
Attempts to show that traditional definitions of "science" and "technology" fail to capture the complex discursive construction of scientific knowledge. Argues (accompanied by many literary and philosphical examples) that science, technology, and the humanities developed in concert with each other, and that their reciprocal relationship transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries.
