On the Veritistic Value of Goldman's Social Epistemology

Abstract

Goldman truth of the theory of value is the core of analytical epistemological theory. Divided into the basic truth of the value of truth value and instrumental value of truth. Corresponds to the basic truth of the value of trust, rejection and non-judgmental three positions, corresponding to the instrumental value of truth is the belief degree of schema. Goldman's theory of value in the truth of being questioned and criticized three aspects: truth positioning and orientation of the conflicting interests, seeking proof of value analysis mode with the principle of opposition, truth-seeking nature of the relationship between values ​​and beliefs of the problem. Critics argue that the value should be included in standard mode with its use. Goldman have made ​​varying degrees of response. Finally, this paper discusses the theory out of the plight of Goldman possible way
