The Standing to Forgive
The Monist 92 (4):583-603 (2009)
Abstract
In the philosophical literature on forgiveness it is almost universally assumed that only the victim of a wrong has the standing to forgive. This paper challenges that assumption and argues for the possibility of meaningful second- and third-party forgiveness.Author's Profile
