Bergson’s Conception Of Freedom
Abstract
The aim of the paper is to present the key aspects of Henri Bergson’s understanding of freedom. The author shows that for an adequate understanding of Bergson’s conception of freedom it is vital to combine it with his views of time and creation. By a establishing a specific connection between of these concepts, Bergson tries to solve the problem of freedom which, for him, stemmed from a flawed understanding of the processes of time and becoming. This thesis constitutes for Bergson a point of departure for his criticism of the opponents, as well as advocates of freedom. Key words BERGSON, FREEDOM
