Abstract

The essay deals with Descartes’transcendental doctrine of moral judgment. The author aims at recovering, by means of a recognition of his writings, a full doctrine of judgment that, even though unexpressed, nevertheless is inherent and operating within Descartes’ thought. This work of textual reconstruction is made necessary first of all by the fragmentary nature of the places where the French philosopher deals with this theme, which have to be put together and read in a synoptic way in order to obtain the overall picture
