Abstract

At the end of the XVIlI century, the Economic Society of Santiago de Cuba, began to think about the interest of establishing public schools for girls. Despite this idea was not put in practice, it provides elements to analyze the feminine education model wanted for girls, basically addressed to the acquisition of an useful and practica1 teaching, aimed at the learning of artesanal jobs
