Features of minerals and mineral-based materials

Abstract

Minerals are natural bodies homogenous in chemical composition and physical properties composing rocks, ores, nonmetallic minerasl and other parts of the Earth crust. About 25% of minerals are silicates, 18% are phosphates and their analogs, 13% are sulfide compounds and about 12% are oxides and hydrooxides.
