Abstract

This paper addresses the definition of passive atheism and its types as a start to identifying and understanding this type of atheism. As the process of its treatment requires us to identify its major causes and to state how it arises in the human psyche leading to atheistic passive judgments because the treatment of any phenomenon depends on the knowledge of its causes. Thus, the goal is to dismantle its origins and negative effects. As the treatment of passive atheism depends on acquiring excellence in the cognitive and appetitive aspects of human nature, I have relied on two methods for its treatment. The first is the general method of dealing with passive judgments, and the second method is the particular and practical one in which the general method dealing with passive judgments and its steps are applied.
