Abstract

This book builds on Mele’s many earlier publications dealing with self-deception, but is more “systematic” and defends a “more comprehensive” position. It is well written, including many lively examples. The book also draws on the relevant psychological literature in a way that could serve as a model of how philosophy can make use of empirical research.
