Astrology, or, Physiognomy and Phrenology-Adorno and a Critical Tradition of The Phenomenology of Mind
Abstract
This paper attempts to Hegel's "Phenomenology of Mind," a small problem and try to explore the ideological heritage of this book on the significance for Adorno. First, we examine this era of widespread misunderstanding of reason. Then, we adopted Hegel's "Phenomenology of Mind" in the skull of physiognomy physiognomy and discussion, analysis of an anti-rational tendencies. Finally, we found in Adorno's study, this anti-rational tendencies in the contemporary form of more through astrology seemingly reasonably deep potential of our social life, which, Adorno is an insight and critics. This insight and criticism is Hegel's "Phenomenology of Mind," the rational tradition of succession. In this article, we attempt to review the influence of Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit on Adorno from a seemingly trivial question in this book. At first, we point out the general misunderstanding to the reason in our present age. Then, we analyze an anti- rational tendency through Hegel's discussion of physiognomy and phrenology in Phenomenology of Spirit. At last, we find that Adorno has not only had an insight into hut also criticized the fact that this anti-rational tendency exists deeply in our social lives in the form of astrology . And Adorno's critique inherits the rational tradition in Phenomenology of Spirit
