Abstract
The success of psychology can be measured, among other criteria, in terms of the psychologization of society, by which we mean the way individuals, groups, and cultures use psychological theories, categories, and practices, rightly or wrongly, to describe, understand, and deal with issues occurring in mental and social life. Theoretical and philosophical psychologists reflect on such issues. The increasing psychologization of our world requires additional discussion, and a discipline self-conscious of its own history and status demands further analyses. Thus, in 2011 we are expanding opportunities for theoretical and philosophical reflection by moving to a quarterly publication. Besides providing more opportunities for publication, we introduce a set of initiatives which are discussed in this editorial. 2012 APA, all rights reserved)
