Abstract

The author reviews two books by Edoardo Massimilla on Max Weber: Intorno a Weber. Scienza, vita e valori nella polemica su “Wissenschaft als Beruf” , and Scienza, professione, gioventù: rifrazioni weberiane . He reconstructs the dense debates on Wissenschaft als Beruf in Germany, especially in the Twenties and the Thirties, highlighting the great value of Massimilla’s contribution to the Weber-Forschung
