Abstract

In Solutions in Philosophy, Religious History, Literature, and Linguistics, Turek focuses on analyzing passages in the humanities. This is not interpreting literature but reading correctly. The method is simple because it relies on everyday thinking, a concentration on words, and their concrete meanings. This intense focus on words leads to a proposed solution to the origin of existential sentences, which follows Turek's proposed solution to symmetric verb sentences from the first edition. He also includes another essay analyzing Shakespeare's Hamlet. This book will appeal to those with a love for words, and especially to students and teachers of linguistics and the humanities.
