Abstract

Meissner's "Marxism, Maoism, and utopianism" is based on Western analysis of the theory of Marxism as a classic. He restored the Mao Zedong Thought in the content of utopianism, and the use of "populism" to explain the methodology of the Chinese revolution. Through his "utopian" to Mao Zedong's pursuit of a better analysis of the unknown world of passion, and after the anti-utopian nature of the Maoist era in depth and thorough investigation. This is to our understanding of Mao Zedong Thought and today's Chinese society has an important inspiration. In his great work "Marxism, Maoism and Utopianism", Maurice Meisner restored the connotation of utopianism in Mao's Thought, and interpreted the Chinese Revolution by the theory of Populism. He analysed Mao's passion for seeking the beautiful unknown world with utopianism, and made a thorough review on the Anti-Utopianism in the post-Maoist period, which is of great help for us to understand Mao's Thought and the present situation in Chinese society
