The Origination of Confucianism in the Chinese Society in Indonesia
Abstract
Indonesia Confucianism Confucianism from China, Indonesia, part of the Peranakan is a unique form of religious and cultural identity signs. The spread of Chinese Confucianism in Indonesia, along with the process of formation of the Chinese community in Indonesia, initially by Chinese families, temples, temples of worship and family, private school, college of education. Late 19th to early 20th century, with the awakening of national consciousness of Chinese in Indonesia, began to consciously maintain the traditional Chinese culture, there has been the first formal organization of Confucianism - Batavia Chinese Association, explicitly declared that Confucianism as a religion of the Chinese in Indonesia, established the basic teachings of Confucianism; Surabaya Temple then began a weekly ritual worship of Confucianism. The Indonesia Confucianism, originated from China, is a special religion and cultural identity mark for the native Chinese in Indonesia. The Confucianism had spread in Indonesia at first by the Chinese families, temples, ancestral halls, and culture educations in the formation process of Chinese society. The first formal Confucianism group, the Badaweiya Chinese Guild Hall declared definitely that the Confucianism is the religion for the Chinese people in Indonesia and the religious doctrine had been formulated in the end of the 19th century.
