Abstract

This essay explores the reasons for the favourable reception of Klinger's aesthetics in Japan. At the root of this favourable reaction is Klinger's preference for non-exhaustive depiction which stimulates the imagination of the viewer and hints at the inexhaustible depths of reality itself
